2007年3月，艾伯塔省和聯(lián)邦政府成立了碳捕獲和儲(chǔ)存工作隊(duì)。它的任務(wù)是提供建議，說(shuō)明政府和工業(yè)界如何能夠共同努力，以促進(jìn)和支持碳捕獲和儲(chǔ)存（CCS）機(jī)會(huì)在加拿大的發(fā)展。 CCS為加拿大提供了迅速、大規(guī)模發(fā)展減少溫室氣體(GHG)排放的世界領(lǐng)先技術(shù)的機(jī)會(huì)。這不僅是可能或需要的唯一解決方案，而且我們的分析表明，它必須是加拿大減少溫室氣體排放并確保經(jīng)濟(jì)持續(xù)繁榮的總體計(jì)劃的一部分。

The Task Force on Carbon Capture and Storage was established by the Alberta and Federal Governments in March, 2007. Its mandate is to provide advice on how government and industry can work together to facilitate and support the development of carbon capture and storage (CCS) opportunities in Canada. CCS presents an opportunity for Canada to develop world-leading technology that can reduce greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions rapidly and on a massive scale. It is not the only solution possible or needed, but our analysis indicates that it must be part of Canada’s overall plan to reduce GHG emissions and ensure our continued economic prosperity.
