2009年，工業(yè)部門占加拿大二氧化碳排放總量的32%。制造業(yè)、采礦業(yè)和采石業(yè)占總排放量的17%，其他高耗能行業(yè)占13%。加拿大工業(yè)部門主要利用能源來產(chǎn)生熱量、產(chǎn)生蒸汽和提供動(dòng)力。天然氣滿足了該行業(yè)32%的能源需求，而電力提供了24%。2008年，該行業(yè)的能源使用量占加拿大最終總消費(fèi)量的37%。

The industry sector was responsible for 32 percent of all CO 2 emissions in Canada in 2009. Manufacturing, mining and quarrying accounted for 17 percent of total emissions and other energy-intensive industries accounted for 13 percent. The Canadian industry sector primarily uses energy to produce heat, generate steam and provide motive power. Natural gas meets 32 percent of the energy needs of the sector, while electricity provides 24 percent. In 2008, the industry’s energy use amounted to 37 percent of Canada’s total final consumption.
