The department of energy will provide federal funding for the proposed American electric power (AEP) mountaineer carbon capture and storage (CCS) II project.The project will build a CCS facility in new haven, West Virginia, which will cover an area of about 500 feet by 1,000 feet and will handle a 235-megawatt flue gas slipstream after its flue gas desulfurization system plant.The project will pipe captured carbon dioxide from the mountaineer power plant to the injection well, where it will be permanently stored in saline formations.Injection sites will be identified on 2 to 4 properties of AEP.So he asked Delaware's governor, kerry holden, for advice
