In the six months since our last medium term Resource and Energy Quarterly the outlook for most commodities has deteriorated. In the December quarter 2015, prices across a broad range of commodities declined faster and further than we or many other market analysts anticipated. The price of oil and iron ore fell to levels not recorded since the early 2000s, essentially reversing much of the price gains achieved when prices peaked in 2011.
