During 2014, following opinions from major oil companies on the same topic, consultants IHS Herold (“IHS”) and industry association IPIECA published reports on carbon risk. We believe that these reports are complacent about the future for oil and gas, and understate the risks to industry business models. The major shortcomings of these analyses are as below:
